Kaden said a funny thing to me today. He walked in my room while I was on the floor cutting fabric, a familiar scene. We talked briefly about something, I think about the music playing on Pandora. He began to walk out of the room, turned back and said, "I'm always watching you Mommy". It was half cute and half creepy, but it made me think.
Everyday, all day, I have an audience. My two little guys are watching my every move. They see the good, the bad and the ugly, absorbing it all. When I'm frustrated with another driver on the freeway, they notice. When I say please and thank you to the server at a restaurant, they hear. When I sing my heart out to every song on Kids Bop 19, dance in the kitchen, swear like a sailor, show kindness to a stranger, show affection to their daddy, give up on something when it's too hard, eat healthy foods, eat unhealthy foods...they watch it all.
Thanks for the reminder Kaden. (And for the record I don't swear like a sailor too much anymore)
